18-months after it was scrapped at Universal, Madonna has announced that her long-gestating biopic is back in development with the new title Who’s That Girl.
The Queen of Pop took to Instagram to post a slide show that included a picture of herself sat behind a typewriter with a script that featured the brand new title and the words “Rewritten by Madonna and ECW.” on the page, referring to The Girl on the Train and Secretary screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the singer had paused production to go on her global Celebration tour, but was now back working on the self-directed biopic movie about her early life, with Ozark and Apartment 7a‘s Julia Garner is still attached to the lead role.
Garner reportedly beat a number of actresses to the sought after role, including Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie, Odessa Young, and singers Bebe Rexha and Sky Ferreira, and supposedly had to undertake a Madonna course, on which she worked out, ran performances, and attempted to capture the iconic pop singer.
