After boarding the project as a producer earlier in the year, Collider is reporting that Avengers star Mark Ruffalo has signed on to star in Todd Haynes’ (Carol, Wonderstruck) untitled legal drama about the DuPont chemical company.
The film, formerly titled Dry Run, is based upon the New York Times Magazine article ‘The Lawyer Who Became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare’ and will see Ruffalo taking on the role of Robert Bilott, an attorney at the centre of the legal fight against DuPont which exposed a decades-long history of chemical pollution.
Mario Correa (Let Her Speak) is currently working on revisions on a script by Matthew Carnahan (Deepwater Horizon), while Bilott himself is serving as a consultant on the film.
Mark Ruffalo will soon reprise his role as Bruce Banner / The Hulk in the currently-untitled Avengers 4, while his other upcoming projects include the HBO limited series I Know This Much Is True.
