Mark Wahlberg and Charlie Hunnam in talks to star in Triple Frontier

July 27, 2017 by Ricky Church

After Ben Affleck dropped out of Netflix’s Triple Frontier earlier this month, Deadline is reporting that the film is regaining its footing with a new cast.

Transformers: The Last Knight’s Mark Wahlberg has begun talks to replace Affleck in the film along with Son of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam, Tron: Legacy’s Garrett Hedlund and Narcos’ Pedro Pascal. Pacific Rim: Uprising’s Adria Arjona will also star in the film.

Triple Frontier has faced a lot of trouble in the development phase. Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum were originally set to star in the film but dropped out and Paramount Pictures followed soon after in April.

Triple Frontier is set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge – making “la triple frontera” difficult to monitor and a haven for organized crime. A Most Violent Year‘s J.C. Chandor will direct the film from a script by Mark Boal.
