A movie based on the popular video game series Uncharted has been in development for some time at Sony. Originally David O. Russell was in line to direct with Mark Wahlberg starring as the protagonist Nathan ‘Nate’ Drake. When Russell left the project it appeared that Wahlberg was no longer in the frame, however it has now been revealed that Wahlberg is still a top contender for the part.
According to details stemming from the Sony hack, it has been discovered that Mark Wahlberg and the film’s director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) met in June this year to discuss the project and it supposedly went well. It is said that Sony needs commitment from Wahlberg soon, as filming is set to begin early in 2015. Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) was approached to play the role earlier this year, but declined.
