Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are set to collaborate on a feature-film for the seventh time with their long-in-the-offing adaptation of The Devil in the White City.
Over a decade in the making, the adaptation of Erik Larson’s book was previously housed at Hulu, who decided not to move forward with a series in early 2023. Fast forward to now, and with Killers of the Flower Moon added to their combined portfolio, Deadline report that 20th Century has stepped up to finance a film adaptation of the 2004 serial-killer novel.
The Devil in the White City focuses on the lives of two men, whose fates are linked by the events of The Chicago World’s Fair of 1983. One is Daniel H. Burnham, a brilliant architect looking to make his mark on the world, the other is Henry H. Holmes, a serial killer who committed his crimes in ‘The Murder Castle’, a building he designed specifically for the torture and murder of between 27 and 200 young women.
There is no word yet on which of the two men DiCaprio will portray, while Jude Law, Keanu Reeves and Jeremy Allen White have all been linked to the project in the past.
