During Disney’s Investor Day event, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige confirmed that filming has wrapped on the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as well as revealing that cast are characters that are set to feature alongside Simu Liu (Kim’s Convenience) as Shang-Chi and Tony Leung (Infernal Affairs) as The Mandarin – who seems to be going by the name Wenwu.
As you can see above, the cast includes Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) as Katy, newcomer Meng’er Zhang as Xialing, Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery) as Jiang Nan, Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians) as Jon Jon, Fala Chen (The Undoing) as Jiang Li and Florian Munteanu (Creed II) as Razor Fist.
Along with the casting, we also got a brief synopsis which reads:
“Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.”
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is set for release on July 9th 2021.
