Just in case the wealth of Marvel Studios announcements at the San Diego Comic-Con weren’t enough to convince Marvel fans to stump up for a subscription to the Disney+ streaming service, the Mouse House has now announced a further three live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe shows during yesterday’s big showcase at the D23 Expo.
Prior to the panel, news broke that Kamala Khan will be joining the MCU with a Ms. Marvel series, and that was quickly confirmed, along with the announcement that both She-Hulk and Moon Knight are being added to the production slate.
She-Hulk is the alter-ego of Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), who (in the comic books at least) acquires a milder version of his Hulk condition after an emergency blood transfusion – although much like Avengers: Endgame’s Hulk, she also retains her personality and intelligence.
Moon Knight meanwhile has long been rumoured for his MCU debut, and is a former mercenary called Marc Spector who double-crossed and left to die during an archaeological dig but is brought back to life by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu in exchange for becoming Khonshu’s avatar on Earth. He then returns to the United States, becoming the cloaked avenger Moon Knight.
