Marvel Studios has been holding a special mystery press event at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles this morning, during which Kevin Feige has officially released details of the Phase Three line-up of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Set to follow July 2015’s Ant-Man is three movies we already knew about, with Captain America 3 – or rather Captain America: Civil War – on May 6th 2016, followed by Doctor Strange following on November 4th 2016 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on May 5th 2017 (two months earlier than previously announced).
Looking further ahead, and it has been announced that Thor 3 – a.k.a. Thor: Ragnarok – will open on July 28th 2017, followed by the long-awaited Black Panther on November 3rd 2017, Captain Marvel on July 6th 2018 and Inhumans on November 2nd 2018, building to a two part showdown between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, with Part 1 arriving on May 4th 2018 and Part 2 on May 3rd 2019.
And here’s a new look at Thanos, complete with the Infinity Gauntlet…
Meanwhile, Marvel also announced that Chadwick Boseman has nabbed the role of T’Challa in Black Panther (with reports suggesting he has a five film deal, starting with Captain America: Civil War), as well as giving us a look at some production concept art…
And that’s not all the Marvel excitement for today, as an exclusive Avengers: Age of Ultron clip is set to air during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tonight.
