The #SaveDaredevil campaign has reminded fans that Marvel Studios will regain the rights to Daredevil in just six months.
Despite the acclaim that Netflix’s Daredevil received, the show was cancelled after three seasons. This happened in quick succession along with all the other Marvel shows on the platform in the aftermath of Disney+’s creation.
Fans have been eager for Daredevil to return in some form but the deal made with Netflix meant that Marvel Studios wouldn’t regain the rights to the character for two years after cancellation. This is the same for other characters like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
Well, the #SaveDaredevil campaign has now reminded fans on Instagram that this two year period is drawing to an end with just six more months to go:
“Happy #FandomWithoutFear Friday! 18 months have passed since #Daredevil was cancelled which also means 18 months since we launched the #SaveDaredevil campaign! We knew we’d be in this for the long haul but every day we’re inspired by #MattMurdock and Daredevil fans all over the world who are in this fight with us! We look forward to the next 6 months passing quickly toward the end of the 2 year moratorium with Netflix and with your help #WeWillSaveDaredevil”

Of course, that doesn’t mean Daredevil will join the MCU in six months or that the character will return at all. It certainly doesn’t mean that Charlie Cox will reprise the role. But if Marvel is listening to the fan support for Cox’s Daredevil, perhaps there is some hope for a resurrection down the line.
