Marvel has announced they will be releasing an all new Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game next year that will put the Marvel universe in to the hands of Marvel fans. Releasing first will be an introductory Playtest Rulebook and will give players the chance to become some of Marvel’s most famous super heroes prior to the tabletop game’s full release in 2023.
The Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game Playtest Rulebook, written by New York Times best-selling author Matt Forbeck, will give players the chance to take the roles of fan-favourite super heroes, or if they prefer create their very own heroes, and also introduce them to the new D616 System. This new system is an easy-to-learn and easily accessible for those new to tabletop RPGs.
The Playtest Rulebook features plenty of illustrations by renowned comic book artists and include full profiles for a wide variety of characters, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Wolverine, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Storm and many more. All hero stats will be based on Might, Agility, Resilience, Vigilance, Ego and Logic.
“As a lifelong Marvel fan and gamer, this project is a dream come true,” said Forbeck. “Fortunately, after writing a couple editions of The Marvel Encyclopedia and designing tabletop games professionally for over 30 years, I feel ready to help make this the best Marvel TTRPG experience ever. I can’t wait for everyone to have the chance to play it!”
The Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game Playtest Rulebook will arrive in 2022 with those who purchase having the opportunity to help shape the game prior to its full release in 2023.
