Agatha: Coven of Chaos is about to start its bewitching production, and it’s gained some new directors right before they start filming.
Reports claim production begins next Tuesday in Atlanta, and we will see Kathryn Hahn returning as the titular Agatha Harkness, the evil witch featured in WandaVision. The series is being showrun by Jac Schaeffer, serving as head writer and executive producer.
Director Gandja Monteiro, fresh off her spell-binding work on Wednesday, will join Schaeffer in the production. We will also see franchise newcomer Rachel Goldberg (A Friend of the Family, Resident Evil) directing on Coven of Chaos. Monteiro is directing two episodes from season three of The Witcher, while Goldberg is directing episodes of The Boys spinoff, Gen V.
We’ve also learned WandaVision actors David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman, and Kate Forbes are returning for the spinoff. They’ll join other returning WandaVision cast members Emma Caulfield and Debra Jo Rupp.
Joining the franchise in crucial roles are Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, and Sasheer Zamata. Other actors reporting for filming are Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.
