Marvel like creative continuity when it comes to the phases of their cinematic universe, and so having tasked Shang-Chi‘s Destin Daniel Cretton with directing their next Avengers behemoth, they’ve looked into the writing room of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in order to secure its screenwriter Jeff Loveness for The Kang Dynasty.
Obviously this makes complete sense considering Kang is the main villain in Phase 5 launcher Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is out on February 17th next year, so Loveness (Rick and Morty) will have a firm grasp on what Jonathan Majors’ big-bad is all about. A variant of Kang was introduced in Loki season one, although he went by the moniker of ‘He Who Remains’.
There’s a lot to happen between now and the arrival of The Kang Dynasty; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (Nov 11), the aforementioned Quantumania (Feb 17, 2023), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May 5, 2023), The Marvels (July 28, 2023), Blade (Nov 3, 2023), Captain America: New World Order (May 3, 2024), Thunderbolts (Jul 26, 2024), and Fantastic Four (Nov 8, 2024), along with a host of TV shows.
