Back in November it was confirmed that Marvel Studios is pushing ahead with plans for Black Panther II, the superhero sequel set to serve as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
Filming on Black Panther II is reportedly set to get underway in the summer, and during the press tour for the Disney+ series WandaVision, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has offered a brief update on the film’s progress:
“Ryan Coogler is working very hard right now on the script with all the respect and love and genius that he has, which gives us great solace, so it was always about furthering the mythology and the inspiration of Wakanda,” Feige told Deadline. “There’s also the task of honoring and respecting the ongoing learnings and teachings from Chad as well.”
Feige also went on to reiterate his previous comments that they will not “have a CG Chadwick, and we’re not recasting T’Challa”.
Black Panther II is scheduled for release in July 2022.
