The God of Mischief may have met his end at the hands of Thanos in last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, but we certainly haven’t seen the last of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Hiddleston is set to appear in April’s Avengers: Endgame, either in flashback or time-travel scenes, following which he’s heading to the small screen to lead his own Marvel series for the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.
According to THR, Marvel Studios has enlisted Michael Waldron (Rick & Morty) to write the pilot episode of Loki, as well as serving as showrunner and executive producer on the series – one of several Disney+ Marvel TV projects in the works alongside The Vision and Scarlet Witch and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The THR report also goes on to reveal that the series “will follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events.”
Not only does that explain how the show will get around Loki’s death (assuming it isn’t undone by Endgame anyway), but it also debunks the recent rumour from That Hashtag Show which claimed that the series would follow a young Loki, with a different actor taking on the role and Hiddleston serving as narrator.
