Marvel’s Secret Invasion hasn’t been too covert of late, what with the news that Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke have joined Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn and Kingsley Ben-Adir in the eagerly-anticipated Disney+ series. Well now we also know who’ll be directing the series, with THR exclusively revealing that Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim have been tapped to helm the Marvel Studios project.
Bezucha directed last year’s underrated Kevin Costner and Diane Lane drama Let Him Go, while Selim worked on Hulu’s terrific 9/11 mini-series The Looming Tower.
While specific details on Secret Invasion are being kept under wraps, Marvel has confirmed that the series won’t be an all-encompassing MCU event like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. It will however presumably take inspiration from the Secret Invasion comic book storyline, where the shape-shifting Skrulls had been quietly infiltrating Earth and integrating into all aspects of society.
The series is expected to go before the cameras in Europe later on this year, with Mr. Robot‘s Kyle Bradstreet writing and executive producing the series.
