Earlier this month, it was announced that Shang Chi 2 is currently in development at Disney and Marvel Studios, and now director Destin Daniel Cretton has announced his dream casting for the upcoming sequel.
In an interview with CinemaBlend, Cretton said that he would love to try and bring action movie legend Jackie Chan into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He stated: “I mean, if we could ever get Jackie [Chan] into a movie that would be a lifelong dream of mine.” However, the filmmaker didn’t comment on how he would factor Chan into the story if they managed to cast him.
Given that Destin Daniel Cretton has already introduced Tony Leung into the MCU, it would be amazing to see how the filmmaker could potentially implement the action movie icon into the sequel with the number of memorable fight sequences throughout the first film.
