After a brief panic where it seems as though Spider-Man’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may have been over, Disney and Sony extended their deal to share custody of the web-slinger this past September, with Marvel subsequently announcing that a third Spider-Man movie would be joining its Phase Four line-up for release in July 2021.
According to Comic Book, filming on the as-yet-untitled follow-up to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to get underway this July, with the production taking in locations in Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles and Iceland through to November. The film will mark Marvel Studios’ second venture to Iceland after 2013’s Thor: The Dark World.
Spider-Man 3 is set for release on July 16th 2021, and will see Jon Watts returning to the director’s chair with Tom Holland (Peter Parker) and Zendaya (MJ) reprising their roles. While further details are being kept under wraps, there has been speculation that the fan-favourite Kraven the Hunter could be set to make his big screen debut as the film’s villain.
