With the launch date for Dune: Awakening getting ever closer (10th June), Funcom has announced that a large-scale Beta weekend will run from 9th-12th May on Steam. Those players who manage to get a place on this massive Beta will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Frank Herbert’s rich and imaginative world. Meanwhile a new trailer has also been released (see below) providing details on the game’s story.
Dune: Awakening’s largest Beta yet will allow a huge number of gamers to step foot on the desert world of Arrakis and experience the story, specifically the first 20 hours of the game and the majority of Act 1. To have the chance of gaining access to this Beta, simply visit the game’s Steam page, wishlist and request access.
On 10th May, gamers can tune into the Global Dune: Awakening LAN Party Broadcast, streamed from both London and PAX East. Throughout this epic event, viewers will be able to listen to lead developers discussing the game as well as watch various content creators facing off against each other in an exciting in-game competition.
Dune: Awakening sends players to Arrakis by order of the Reverend Mother. Her instructions will see players build up their forces and bases as they survive the scorching hot deserts and monstrous Sand Worms. Find the Fremen, learn from them and survive the most deadly, yet beautiful, world in the Dune universe.
