Apple Original Films has set Matt Damon and Casey Affleck to star in The Instigators, a drama feature which will reteam Damon with his The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman.
As per THR, the film will see Damon and Affleck (the other one) playing two thieves on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a robbery goes wrong. There’s no word yet as to who’ll play the therapist.
As well as starring, Damon will also executive produces with Ben Affleck and Kevin Walsh (Manchester By the Sea, The Last Duel), as well as Jeff Robinov and John Graham of Studio 8. Chuck Maclean (City on a Hill) has written the script.

Before we get to The Instigators, Matt Damon and Casey Affleck will next be seen as part of the enormous ensemble cast of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which opens in July 2023. Next up from Liman meanwhile is the Netflix series The Recruit, along with the Road House remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
