Since signing on to the project last summer as a replacement for Ben Affleck in the director’s chair, Matt Reeves has been hard at work shaping his vision for Warner Bros. and DC Films’ long-planned The Batman solo movie.
Official updates on the film have been hard to come by – instead we’ve mainly just had speculation over Ben Affleck’s status as the Dark Knight – but it was reported back in September that Reeves had completed his first draft of the screenplay, and now it seems he’s also set to finish up his rewrites before the end of the year.

Reeves had previously indicated that he is hoping to get cameras rolling on The Batman by the spring of 2019, and given how drawn out and tiresome the whole saga surrounding Affleck’s potential involvement has become, let’s hope we finally get some kind of official announcement form Warner and DC Films soon.
