Matthew Vaughn has plenty of takes on the Hollywood industry. From shading the Supergirl casting process to stating what Marvel needs to do, Vaughn seems pretty vocal about the state of superheroes.
That doesn’t mean he’s against it, as the BroBible asked the Argylle director about adapting his own dream DC project, which happens to the iconic Superman: Red Son story.
The outlet asked: “I know that they said they’re going to do Elseworlds-type stuff — I didn’t even have this written down — are you a Red Son guy? Is that the approach you’d try to take?”
The filmmaker notes, “I thought Red Son was one of the cleverest comics I’d ever read, and the current world we’re living in, it’s certainly become a lot more relevant because ignorance causes more issues, and I think the more we learn about Russia and the Russian history.
“Wow, could you imagine remaking Red Son with Henry Cavill? That would be an interesting movie…” Vaughn adds.
