John Landis’ An American Werewolf in London is set for the remake treatment, with Landis’ son Max Landis signing on to write and direct a new take on the 1981 cult classic.
The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman and David Alpert are producing the remake through Skybound Entertainment for Universal Pictures. John Landis is also attached as executive producer.
An American Werewolf in London followed two American college students (played by David Naughton and Griffin Dunne) who are attacked by a werewolf on the Yorkshire Moors. Dunne’s character is killed, while Naughton survives but finds himself transforming into a werewolf on the next full moon.
Max Landis is currently serving as writer and producer on BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency; his previous big screen credits include Chronicle, American Ultra and Victor Frankenstein.
