Melissa McCarthy is set to spread some festive cheer, with THR reporting that the actress has signed on to star in the festive family comedy Margie Claus, which is being directed by her husband Ben Falcone.
Described as “a broad holiday family musical” in the same spirit as Will Ferrell’s Elf, Margie Claus sees Santa going missing whilst delivering presents on Christmas Eve. His sweet wife Margie Claus must then put together an unlikely rescue team and set off from the North Pole for the first time in decades to rescue Santa and save Christmas.
Margie Claus is set for release on November 15th 2019, and will mark the third collaboration between McCarthy, Falcone and New Line after 2014’s Tammy and the upcoming Life of the Party, which opens on May 11th 2018.
