Metallica’s James Hetfield joins Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

February 14, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Metallica frontman James Hetfield has become the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Ted Bundy film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, Deadline is reporting.

The film is being directed by Joe Berlinger, who helmed the documentary Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, as well as writing the book Metallica: This Monster Lives. It will mark Hetfield’s first dramatic role where he plays someone other than himself, as he takes on the role of Officer Bob Hayward, a Utah highway patrol veteran who became the first law enforcement officer to arrest the notorious serial killer in 1975.

“Having spent hundreds of hours behind the scenes with James and the rest of Metallica, I have experienced his charisma and powerful presence close up,” says director Joe Berlinger in a statement. “It seemed only natural that he would bring that same power and magnetism to a dramatic role, so when he agreed to my pitch that he be in the movie, I was thrilled.”

Here’s a look at Hetfield on set with Zac Efron and director Joe Berlinger…
