November 1, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

MGM+ has debuted the first trailer, a poster and images for Earth Abides, the post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama series based on George R. Stewart’s 1949 novel of the same.

Alexander Ludwig stars as Ish, a man who is forced to leave his life of isolation after being bitten by a snake only to discover civilisation has been almost wiped out by a deadly virus.

The series stars Alexander Ludwig, Jessica Frances Dukes, Aaron Tveit, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll, Elyse Levesque, Hilary McCormack, Luisa D’Oliveira, Birkett Turton, and Jenna Berman. Watch the trailer below…

In Earth Abides, when a plague of unprecedented virulence sweeps the globe, the human race is all but wiped out. In the aftermath, as the great machine of civilization slowly and inexorably breaks down, only a few shattered survivors remain to struggle against the slide into extinction.

Earth Abides premieres on December 1st.
