Yesterday news hit that Lupita Nyong’o was in talks to join Marvel’s Black Panther, and now we have another piece of exciting casting, as Creed star Michael B. Jordan has joined the upcoming superhero film as well.
It’s not yet clear who Jordan will be playing, but THR‘s sources say that it could be the film’s villain. Considering we’ve already seen Ulysses Klaw in Avengers: Age of Ultron (played by Andy Serkis), we can scratch that name off the list of what foe Jordan may be playing. Maybe he’ll take on the role of someone like White Wolf, Man Ape, or Erik Killmonger? If you have any ideas about it, leave them in the comments below!
This will be the third time Jordan has teamed up with director Ryan Coogler, having previously starred in both Creed and Fruitvale Station. It will also be his second comic book role in the last few years, having starred as the Human Torch in last year’s infamous Fantastic Four reboot (which could possibly spell trouble for producer Simon Kinberg’s hopes of a Fantastic Four sequel).
Black Panther will hit theaters on February 2, 2018. It stars Chadwick Boseman as the titular warrior king of Wakanda, reprising his role from Captain America: Civil War.
