Variety is reporting that Black Panther and Creed star Michael B. Jordan has signed on to portray the character of ex-Navy SEAL and CIA agent John Clark in big screen adaptations of Rainbow Six and Without Remorse.
Clark featured as a supporting character in Clancy’s Jack Ryan novels, as well as taking centre stage in the two aforementioned books, both of which have been in development as feature films for many years. The character was previously portrayed by Willem Dafoe in 1994’s Clear and Present Danger, and Liev Schreiber in 2002’s The Sum of All Fears.
The films are being produced by Paramount Pictures, with the origin story Without Remorse set to launch the franchise and lead into the Rainbow Six movie. Akiva Goldsman, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec are attached to produce, and the search is now underway for writers.
