Variety is reporting that Michael B. Jordan is set to lend his voice to the lead role in gen:Lock, a new anime-style series from Rooster Teeth Animation, the team behind RWBY and Red vs. Blue.
gen:Lock will take place in the future, where Earth’s last free society finds itself on the losing side of a global war. Jordan will voice Julian Chase, a pilot of a new generation of mechas, giant weaponized robots controlled by humans.
In addition to his voice work, Jordan will also co-produce through his Outlier Society Productions company, while Gray G. Haddock, head of Rooster Teeth Animation, writes and directs.
“Michael’s visionary career choices and commitment to meaningful entertainment, not to mention his love of anime, line up perfectly with what drives Rooster Teeth,” states Haddock. “We’re thrilled for the opportunity to do some cool sci-fi storytelling together.”
Jordan is currently shooting Creed II, which is scheduled for release on November 21st 2018.
