Deadline is reporting that Michael B. Jordan’s production company Outlier Society has optioned the rights to screenwriter and New York Times bestselling author Christopher Golden (Hellboy: The Crooked Man) horror novel The House of Last Resort with a view to a feature film adaptation.
The House of Last Resort follows “a young American couple who relocate to a Sicilian hill town, where the mayor is selling abandoned homes to foreigners for a single Euro in an effort to revitalize the faltering community, in a move reflective of a recent real-life trend in Italy and other countries. Soon, they learn their new home has walled-up catacombs beneath it, whispers in its walls, and a dark history.”
Golden has also signed on to write the script for the potential film, which joins a growing slate of development projects for Jordan’s Outlier including a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, which Jordan is attached to direct, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, a follow-up to 2021’s Without Remorse.
