After dominating cinemas in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners this past week, Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming remake of The Thomas Crown Affair has been given a March 2027 release date for the modern heist caper.
Jordan will direct and lead the Thomas Crown remake, which will follow the titular character as a billionaire who is also a professional art thief. In both the 1968 original and its 1999 remake, an insurance investigator sets her sights on Crown after a high-profile theft which sets off a cat-and-mouse game as well as a romance between the pair. Jordan’s version will be released through Amazon MGM on March 5th, 2027.
Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo and Taylor Russell will produce through Outlier Society from a script by Drew Pearce. Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff will also serve as producers with original Thomas Crown Affair writer Alan Trustman executive producing.

Directed by Norman Jewison, The Thomas Crown Affair starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway in the lead roles, while the first remake from Die Hard director John McTiernan featured Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
The Thomas Crown Affair will be released on March 5th, 2027.
