Back in April it was reported that actor Michael Keaton could be set for a reunion with director Tim Burton, albeit on Disney’s live-action Dumbo remake, as opposed to the long-rumoured Beetlejuice sequel.
Well, speaking to Good Morning America to promote the release of his new film Spider-Man: Homecoming, Keaton has confirmed that he is set to play the villain in the new take on the Disney classic.
“I am reuniting with Tim Burton,” said Keaton. “You just want to be around that guy. You want to be in his sphere because he’s original and unique and an artist.”
Keaton and Burton first collaborated in 1988 on Beetlejuice, and followed it up with 1989’s Batman and 1992’s Batman Returns.
Dumbo will also see Keaton reuniting with his Batman Returns co-star Danny DeVito, while Burton regular Eva Green (Dark Shadows, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) is also attached to the cast alongside Colin Farrell (True Detective).
