February 1, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Saban Films has released a poster and trailer for A Little White Lie, the upcoming comedy based on Chris Belden’s novel Shriver.

Written and directed by Michael Maren, the film stars Michael Shannon as Shriver, a down on his luck handyman who is mistaken for a famous reclusive author and accepts an invitation to attend a literary festival where he finds himself surrounded by fans and a shot at love. Watch the trailer below…

Shriver (Michael Shannon), a down-on-his-luck handyman who has never read a book in his life, is mistaken for a famous writer that has been in hiding for over 20 years. With nothing to lose, he accepts an invitation to attend a college literary festival and finds himself surrounded by adoring fans and an English professor (Kate Hudson) who captures his heart. Shriver must do whatever it takes for his shot at love in this fish-out-of-water comedy.

The film stars Michael Shannon, Kate Hudson, Zach Braff, Kate Linder, Aja Naomi King, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Don Johnson.

A Little White Lie arrives in cinemas and on digital platforms on March 3rd.
