If you thought we’d seen the last of Michelle Gomez’s Missy – a.k.a. the female Master – then think again, as the BBC has revealed that Gomez will be back for the two-part opener to the upcoming ninth series of Doctor Who.
“Everybody hide—Michelle Gomez as Missy was an instant hit last year, so she’s straight back to plague the Doctor and Clara in the series opener, but what brings her back into their lives is the last thing they’d expect,” said showrunner Steven Moffat, who will pen the series premiere.
“Things have been a little beige since I left Missy behind, so I’m delighted to be putting my lippie back on,” adds Gomez. “I’m positively dying to see The Doctor again!”
As well as the returning Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, the new series will also see Jemma Redgrave returning as UNIT’s Kate Lethbridge-Stewart.
