Filmmaker Mike Flanagan knows how to cast for his works. Whether it’s Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep, or one of his shows on Netflix, we are sure to get an all-star cast in a Flanagan production, and his upcoming The Life of Chuck is gathering a gaggle of great talents.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, Tom Hiddleston, and Mark Hamill have already been cast, but joining them are two iconic names from the world of Wes Craven. It was announced that Matthew Lillard (Scream) and Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street) will also star.
Flanagan writes about the project, “The Life of Chuck is a very personal story for me, and a movie I am so grateful will be in the world. We’ll keep you posted with more updates as they come.”
In yet another adaptation of a short story from Stephen King, this will look at the 2020 anthology If It Bleeds and adapts The Life of Chuck to three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumor at 39 and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house. The project’s genre was compared to previous King works like Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile.
The rest of the cast includes Mia Sara, Benjamin Pajak, Trinity Jo-li Bliss, Q’Orianka Kilcher, Antonio Raul Corbo, Harvey Guillen, David Dastmalchian, Kate Siegel, Carl Lumbly, Annalise Basso, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Matt Biedel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Michael Trucco, Violet McGraw, and Molly C. Quinn.
Flanagan will also write the script and produce through Intrepid Pictures.
