Mike Myers would “love” to do another Austin Powers movie

April 28, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Comedy icon Mike Myers has revealed that he would love to star in another Austin Powers movie.

For so many around the world, and particularly for audiences of a certain age, the Austin Powers series was a landmark with its goofy and often outrageous humour.

The last entry in the spy spoof series, Goldmember, arrived back in 2002, so it would seem that in the age of remakes, reboots, and sequels that it would be ripe for the picking.

And now we have learnt from Myers, during a discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, that he would be more up for a return to the character.

“I would love to do another, but you just have to see. I was devastated by my father’s death. But to have that turn into something that makes people happy is unbelievably satisfying. It’s that kind of stuff you never get used to or get tired of.”

And in the same conversation, director of all three films, Jay Roach, said this about the subject of another movie.

“We have talked about [making a fourth movie] for 15 years. We have also always said we don’t want to do it unless we came up with something that lived up to the concepts in our mind. Until Mike feels like he has a concept that earns a fourth, it won’t happen. But if it did, we have all agreed that we would be delighted to get back into it.”

This is news that will surely please fans that have wanted more from the series. Perhaps their wishes aren’t too far away from reality after all.
