With Millie Bobby Brown’s latest film The Electric State coming out next week, the actress has been doing the press tour and revealed to Collider that not only will her next project be Enola Holmes 3, but it will begin production “in the coming weeks.”
Brown first starred as Enola Holmes in the 2020 film, which was an adaptation of the young adult novel series by Nancy Springer. It followed the young Enola, sister to Sherlock Holmes, as she set out to carve her own destiny in Victorian England as the suffragette movement was picking up and be recognized for her own intelligence and deduction skills rather than being thought of separately from Sherlock and their older brother Mycroft.
In her interview with Collider, Brown said “I’m going to be doing an Enola Holmes 3 this year. We start filming in the coming weeks. I’m very excited.”
As to Henry Cavill’s involvement, where he played the famous Sherlock in both Enola Holmes films, Brown couldn’t say but teased “You’ll have to wait and see” if he will return, as the second film ended with Sherlock meeting his famous partner and author of their adventures Dr. John Watson, played in a cameo by Himesh Patel.
Enola Holmes has also starred Louis Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter, Susie Wokoma and Adeel Akhtar. Enola Holmes 2 featured David Thewlis, Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Hannah Dodd.
Enola Holmes 3 will be directed by Philip Barantini from a script by Jack Thorne, who returns after writing the first two films.
