We already know that Michael Bay is throwing Merlin and Nazis into the mix for Transformers: The Last Knight, and now we can add the Dinobots to the list, with Mark Wahlberg revealing during a Facebook chat that Grimlock and company will be returning for the fifth instalment of the franchise, along with the new Mini-Dinobots.
“[Transformers: The Last Knight] is a cool new story, it’s kind of like a man on the run,” said Wahlberg, who is reprising his role as Cade Yeager from Transformers: Age of Extinction. “Sir Anthony Hopkins is also in the film. We got a cool new cast, cool new robots, cool new villains and some cool new Dinobots. I think you guys are really going to go crazy for the Mini-Dinobots.”
This confirms a report from back in June which suggested we’d be seeing some new Mini-Dinobots in the film, as well as offering up some character info and plot details, much of which has since proven accurate.
Transformers: The Last Knight reunites Michael Bay with franchise veterans Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Stanley Tucci, while new additions to the cast include Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School), Jerrod Carmichael (Bad Neighbours), Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy), Santiago Cabrera (Merlin), Liam Garrigan (Once Upon a Time), Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files) and Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World). The film hits theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
