Mirror’s Edge heading to the small screen for TV series

May 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

EA DICE’s video game franchise Mirror’s Edge is heading to the small screen, with Deadline reporting that Endemol Shine Studios has snapped up the rights to develop a female-centred action series.

“We clearly see Mirror’s Edge as a franchise for the global TV audience,” said Sharon Hall, President of Endemol Shine Studios. “It has a strong female protagonist, a wildly rabid fan base and a worldwide brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done an amazing job establishing.”

Mirror’s Edge “is set in a quasi-futuristic dystopian society, in which a network of ‘runners’, including the main character, Faith, act as couriers to transmit messages while evading government surveillance.”

Mirror’s Edge was released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2007, while a reboot entitled Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is set to hit next-gen consoles next month.
