After appearing in this summer’s Twisters, Stephen Oyoung has another blockbuster on his hands as Deadline reports that the actor is the latest to join Mission: Impossible 8.
Plot details for this eighth entry remain under wraps, as does Oyoung’s role. Christopher McQuarrie will return to direct and is producing alongside lead star Tom Cruise. The film was initially set to be the second part of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning but has been reworked for a more standalone experience.
The returning cast will include Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, and Frederick Schmidt.
New additions joining Oyoung for their Mission: Impossible debut include Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Katy O’Brian, and Tramell Tillman.
Oyoung is best known for his work in films like Sicario and John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum, as well as series like Insecure, For All Mankind, CSI: Vegas, and Fresh Off the Boat. Expect killer action since the actor has also been a fight coordinator for Keanu Reeves for 47 Ronin, Denzel Washington for The Equalizer, and Adam Driver for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
The eighth Mission: Impossible film comes from Paramount Pictures and Skydance. It is currently slated for release on May 23rd 2025.
