Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, the follow-up to The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, has found its titular monsters.
Deadline broke the news that Ryan Murphy and Netflix have decided on who will play the infamous Menendez Brothers. The series has cast Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez in the roles; Deadline notes Koch will play Erik & Alexander Chavez will play Lyle. Koch is currently appearing in Season 1 of Power Book II: Ghost, and Chavez is currently starring on the long-running soap opera General Hospital.
Season 2 will tell the story of the real-life brothers who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menéndez. Although the siblings eventually confessed to parricide, they have long sustained that the reason for their actions was due to physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.

For those worried that this was crossing the picket lines for the WGA Strike, Deadline assured audiences, saying, “The castings were done before the writers’ strike, and [Ryan Murphy] hasn’t been involved in any activity on the project since the walkout.”
There’s no release date for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
