Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista have recruited Morena Baccarin (Deadpool & Wolverine) for The Wrecking Crew, an action comedy that sees the Dune stars as feuding brothers out to uncover the mystery behind their father’s death, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The Wrecking Crew follows “two half-brothers — one a loose-cannon cop (Momoa) and the other a disciplined Navy SEAL (Bautista). After 20-odd years of bad blood, they must work together to unravel the conspiracy behind their father’s murder in Hawaii.”
Baccarin will play “Momoa’s girlfriend, who is growing increasingly frustrated by his antics.” She joins a cast that also includes Temuera Morrison (The Book of Boba Fett), Jacob Batalon (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Frankie Adams (The Expanse), Miyavi (Unbroken), Stephen Root (Barry) and Claes Bang (The Northman).
The Wrecking Crew will be directed by Ángel Manuel Soto (Blue Beetle) from a script by Jonathan Tropper (The Adam Project). Producing is 6th & Idaho’s Lynn Harris and Matt Reeves alongside Bautista, Momoa and Jeffrey Fierson.
Production is scheduled to begin in October in New Zealand. Currently there is no release date for the film.
