Variety has revealed that Morgan Freeman (Angel Has Fallen) and Frank Grillo (Avengers: Endgame) are set to star in Panama, an action film from writer-director Daniel Adams (The Lightkeepers, An L.A. Minute).
According to the trade, the film is inspired by true events and will see Grillo as a rugged ex-marine who is sent undercover into Panama by his former commander (Freeman) to executive a high level deal – a mission that will see him navigating the chaos of a civil war, battling assassins, courting femme fatales and negotiating with the enemy.
Panama will mark a reunion for Freeman and Grillo, with the two having recently completed production on the action comedy sequel The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard alongside Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek.
