Morgan Freeman joins Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2

September 10, 2014 by Scott J. Davis

Academy Award Winner Morgan Freeman has signed on to appear alongside everyone’s favourite foul-mouthered teddy bear in Ted 2, the sequel to 2012’s monster hit.

Now in the record books as the highest-grossing original R-rated movie of all time, Ted is all set to return to the big screen next summer. Seth MacFarlane is back as the voice of the titular stuffed bear, alongside the returning Mark Wahlberg as his owner John Bennett. Mila Kunis is set to reappear as well as John’s fiance Lori, but it is unclear how big her role may be, considering that A Million Ways To Die In The West co-star Amanda Seyfried has been set as the new female lead for a while now.

Also, as reported today by the Daily Mail, Flash Gordon himself Sam Jones will appear once again as the 80’s hero. The actor was seen on set over the last couple of days with Wahlberg, who looks like he has gone and bought himself a Flash Gordon bike judging by the set photos from the site.

MacFarlane will also produce and direct again, as well as co-writing the scripts with usual partners Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, while Universal will again distribute the film.

Ted 2 is due for release on June 26th 2015 in the US, with a July 10th bow in the UK.
