Award-winning actress Anjali Bhimani has joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Ms. Marvel as a recurring character, however, her role is currently unknown.
Bhimani is well known for her voice acting roles in Overwatch as Symmetra and Apex Legends as Rampart, as well as Critical Role’s The Legend of Vox Machina as Head Cleric. Her small-screen credits include Marvel’s Runaways, Special, Station 19, Grace and Frankie, and Modern Family.
Ms. Marvel centres on Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), a Pakistani American teenager from New Jersey who turned Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero after receiving her own set of shape-shifting powers. The character of Ms. Marvel first appeared in 2014 as Marvel’s first Muslim character to star in her own title, and she will become Marvel Studios’ first onscreen Muslim hero.
Along with Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel features a cast that includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, Laurel Marsden and Anjali Bhimani.
Ms. Marvel is coming to Disney+ in 2022.
