Muncher is on the loose in new Ghostbusters: Afterlife images

Expectations were already as high as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man for Jason Reitman’s pandemic delayed sequel to the beloved 80s classic, but when word escaped from the containment unit about how good Ghostbusters: Afterlife was, the hyperbole went through the roof. Now Empire Magazine has unveiled two more exclusive images to tide us over before the films November release.

The first features the next-gen version of Slimer, cutely named Muncher, who appears to be on the verge of causing some mayhem with a fire hydrant, while the second depicts the young cast in a spooky setting, presumably pointing their torches at something which will prompt them to ask “Who you gonna call?” Take a look below….

From writer and director Jason Reitman, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the next chapter in the Ghostbusters universe and follows a single mother and her two children who arrive in a small town and begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is directed by Jason Reitman and stars Carrie Coon (The Leftovers), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Mckenna Grace (Captain Marvel), Paul Rudd (Avengers: Endgame), Bokeem Woodbine (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Celeste O’Connor (Wetlands), Oliver Cooper (Mindhunter) and newcomer Logan Kim, along with returning Ghostbusters cast members Dan Aykroyd (Ray Stantz), Bill Murray (Peter Venkman), Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore), Sigourney Weaver (Dana Barrett), and Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz).

Prepare to get slimed when Ghostbusters: Afterlife is released on November 11th, 2021.
