Music-driven adventure Distortions coming early 2018

November 17, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Among Giants has announced that their music driven adventure title, Distortions, will be arriving on Steam and the Windows Store early 2018.  This award winning title takes players to a strange world where music, magic and memories create a beautiful landscape.  A new trailer can be seen below that showcases the beauty of this title.

In Distortions  players takes the role of a girl who wakes up in a strange world, it is a world where she must learn to make peace with her past and one where the laws of time and gravity no longer apply.  Armed only with her violin and journal players will need to find their way through this world, using music to shape the terrain and protect from the strange masked creatures that inhabit the land.  With the assistance of a strange masked man players will solve the mystery of the journal, overcome her past troubles and leave the strange land for a happier future.

“Distortions is a music-based project that goes well beyond game mechanics and the world itself. Music has driven the whole concept forward, before a single art asset was put in place,” says Thiago Girello, CEO of Among Giants. “From the start, we wanted to make a game that would use music as the connective tissue between narrative, environment, and language. Before development began, we researched all the types of music Distortions will feature, what kind of ‘vibe’ they provide, and what stories they tell. With all this prior research, the rest was actually pretty straightforward!”
