Per Deadline, Lucasfilm has announced that Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as the fan-favourite Star Wars Rebels character, Sabine Wren, in the upcoming Star Wars: Ahsoka Disney+ series.
Bordizzo made her screen debut as Snow Vase in Netflix’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. She also starred on the streamer’s series The Society and in the 2019 film Crazy About You.
Sabine Wren, who was voiced on Rebels by Tiya Sircar, is a young Mandalorian warrior and graffiti artist, Imperial Academy dropout and a former bounty hunter with expert knowledge of weapons and explosives.
The casting of Sabine Wren will not come as a surprise to people who have watched Star Wars Rebels as not only is creator Dave Filoni writing the series, but the beloved Star Wars animated series concluded its fourth and final season with Ahsoka and Sabine beginning their journey to find the Jedi Ezra Bridger – who jumped into hyperspace during his battle with Grand Admiral Thrawn.

While the plot and release details are still being kept under wraps, there have also been rumours that Aladdin‘s Mena Massoud has been approached to play the live-action version of Ezra and Lars Mikkelsen is also being rumoured to reprise his role as Thrawn after voicing the character for two seasons of Rebels. However, neither Lucasfilm nor Disney has currently confirmed these casting speculations.
