Max’s Lanterns series has recruited another Green Lantern to its line-up, with Deadline revealing that the DC series will see Nathan Fillion appearing as Guy Gardner, a role he’ll originate this summer in James Gunn’s DC Universe-launching Superman movie.
Lanterns will see Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre taking on the roles of Green Lantern Corps members Hal Jordan and John Stewart, who find themselves embroiled in an Earth-based mystery sparked by a murder in Nebraska. It’s unclear how Fillion’s Guy Gardner will factor into the plot, or how big of a role he might play in the eight-episode series.
Fillion is no stranger to the Green Lantern Corps; along with his upcoming role in Superman, the actor has also voiced Hal Jordan in the animated films Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, Justice League: Doom, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen.
In addition to Chandler, Pierre and Fillion, the cast of Lanterns includes Garrett Dillahunt (Where The Crawdads Sing) as William Macon, Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire) as Sheriff Kelly, Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever) as Zoe, Sherman Augustus (Stranger Things) and J. Alphonse Nicholson (P-Valley) as John Senior, Jasmine Cephas Jones (Blindspotting) as Bernadette Stewart and Ulrich Thomsen (The New Pope) as Sinestro.
Lanterns is slated to air on Max in early 2026.
