NBC has announced that it has cancelled the time-travel drama series Timeless, pulling the plug on the show after one season.
Creators Erik Kripke and Shawn Ryan took to social media to confirm the news, as well as revealing that production company Sony TV is currently looking for another outlet for a second season:
Its true. NBC canceled #Timeless. We're surprised & upset. Get you a longer response later. Odds are long, but trying to find another home.

1. Learned a lot about TV biz in last few days. A lot of things to argue for a #Timeless renewal but $$$ flows in mysterious ways in tv now.

2. As @therealKripke mentioned, Sony will look for another outlet. Don't know the viability of that, but know there's intense fan love.

Timeless revolves around history professor Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer), scientist Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) and soldier Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter), who are tasked with trying to prevent Garcia Flynn (Goran Višnjić) from rewriting American history through time travel. Despite a modest but loyal following, the show had struggled to make much of an impact in live viewer ratings.
