NBC is developing a TV drama spinoff from the Seth Graheme-Smith novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter entitled The Last American Vampire.
According to Variety, the project follows Abby, a young analyst recruited into a special division of the FBI that investigates unique and mysterious cases. Working on her first case tackling a string of bizarre murders, Abby quickly discovers that her enigmatic new partner happens to be a 500-year-old vampire.
The potential series is being written by Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys, Star Trek Enterprise), who will also executive produce with Graheme-Smith and David Katenberg on behalf of KatzSmith Productions.
Published in 2010, Graheme-Smith’s novel was previously adapted for the big screen in 2010, with Benjamin Walker starring in the title role.
